Katarína Karafová is an artist, researcher and organizer of cultural events. She is a graduate of Intermedia department at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava where she is currently completing her doctoral studies. In her artistic practice and theoretical research, she is long-term concerned with the reflection of documentary strategies in the visual arts and issues of performativity. She covers dramaturgy and coordination of the PechaKucha Night Bratislava events – thematic evenings presenting the author's works and projects of visual artists, designers, architects, filmmakers, organizations and initiatives. Besides these activities she is currently collaborating as an assistant art director on the international exhibition and research project Eastern Sugar. She mostly operates in Slovakia and Czech Republic, lives in Prague.
