Judit Lannert is a senior researcher, graduated as an economist at the Karl Marx University of Economics in Budapest in 1985. She took her Ph. D. in Sociology in 2005 at the Corvinus University in Budapest. She has been working as a researcher in the field of education since 1990. She have been a researcher at the National Institute for Public Education (changed from 2007 into Hungarian Institute for Educational Research and Development). From 2004 to 2007 she was the director of the Research Centre of the Institute. She was among the ones who initiated the regular publication of the Hungarian Report on Public Education, which is widely used at the universities and among decision-makers, as well. She also took part in several international projects financed by OECD and by the European Union. Her main interest is in empirical (both quantitative and qualitative) research in the field of school effectiveness, that of students’ progress and career aspirations and the transition process from school to work.
